Close by the canal

I had intended to continue to use my Wildlife Trust  membership and visit the Croxall Lakes hides, near to the National Memorial Arboretum.  I was nearly there when I found the road closed, and an officer told me that there had been an RTC. I hope nobody was hurt - but it doesn't take much to close a rural road.

Change of plan.  Close to Branston Water Park, I decided to go back there. It was wonderful. Lots of baby ducks and coots (and yes, I did recognise the right variety). Speckled wood that co operated - and this marvellous creature who posed by the canal bank.

Surprisingly, a very interesting wild(ish) creature was an adorable cat who wandered out of the thick nettles to make friends - extra photo of course.
