Weaving
What have we done today? Showered (and got Ben in the shower too), breakfasted, been out to the shop for milk, got back before the rain. Made a patch for Ben's trousers (my first attempt at weaving in about 20 years). Learnt a new wrap tie, a kangaroo hold, so that I can continue to wrap Charley in the didymos as he grows. Made pastry, and a cheese, onion, mushroom and ham pie; and a sauce to go with it from chicken stock. Feel very domesticated!!
Think Ben has finally succumbed to the slapped cheek virus. It's been brewing a few days now, he's been off-colour and off his food. He's eating much better now though but his right cheek does look like it's been walloped.
Ben is learning about keeping his toys tidy. At least, downstairs. If he wants to keep them safe, and away from Charley (at least for the next couple of months this is!) he needs to make sure they are put away in his toybox when he's not playing with them. All the toys get put away at the end of the day so that we can find them in the morning. If he wants to play after I've taken Charley to bed he can play in his bedroom. He knows how to pull up a stool or chair to turn the light off when he's done, and he knows he's to do a wee before he comes to bed! We've got it sussed, these evenings when Daddy is out.
I'm so tired!! Steve got in about 11.30 last night, and we chatted til 1.30am. By which time we were in bed, and Ben was grumbling at us for chattering instead of sleeping ;-)
