A PBY & a P40

I was lucky enough to see these two war birds fly over the house today. They both date from WWII. The larger picture shows a PBY Catalina Flying Boat  & the inset, the P-40 or the Curtis Kittyhawk marked up as the famous Lulu Belle which was piloted by a chap called Adair,who single handedly disrupted a Japanese bombing raid on a Allied location for which he received the Silver Star.

Fitting that I should see these today on Armed Forces Day when  displays & celebrations have been held throughout the UK.

It has been warm but has since clouded over
