Only just caught the 5 pm ferry to Tory Island, to stay overnight in the hotel, for bird watching the next day.

It made Countryfile 7 years ago, sadly neither are there now.

In the hotel we were asked what time we would like the music to start for ½ hour, amazing to be asked that question, we agreed 10 pm, so we could go out for an evening walk to hear the Corncrake, lots of them were calling, but no sight of them.

Funny how the word must have spread, as we ended up with a session, the accordion player, 2 guitar players & a flutist, playing Irish music.  One of the guitarists works as a male nurse on the island 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off, back on the mainland.
