Selfie?!

After today I feel like he/she looks! This is Raz - a Horsefield Tortoise that was Party Girls sons birthday present! I finally got to meet it when opening his grandmothers chickens this morning! What a burrowing little cutie! It will grow to 4-10 inches so may never be huge!
The day started eventually as today of all days I overslept! ! 10.00 I woke and literally flew out the house, pulling on a pair of trousers as I went! I did not expect to meet anyone but as my bad luck would have it Party Girls partner found me! He had not gone to the cousins wedding like everyone else! He is an internet/ebay/amazon seller of some standing so I will refer to him as The Seller! Then Colourful Mai's partner appeared! He is an air conditioning fitter and DJ by night - so DJ he is! He was fitting air con/ heater in The Sellers house! We all went in for coffee and the fun and games started! I of course wanted a proper coffee from their Gaggia - but the Seller thought it was broke - I thought it was because a second coffee grind holder was stuck - he disagreed - me and DJ tried to look and emptied the water out - all over me! Wet T-shirt competition it was and as I was bra less it was lucky it didn't fall or soak upwards! I was right and once the offending item was removed guess who ended up making the coffee - yep - me!
So - straight home and up to Friend, do not return home, do not change clothes! She was looking really chipper - reduced dose much better - fingers crossed it lasts! So finally home, shower, walk Portly, dropping off strawberries to Polish Free Spirit's partner, who was very grateful as he had eaten all the ones she had bought the previous day as she told him to try them - she had meant try not polish off the lot!
The village quay was a hive of activity, pleasure cruise from Plymouth and local ferry to Cotehele both tied up and people everywhere! Rowing boats appearing beyond the bridge and then the train went over the viaduct! Portly  and I headed for the empty playing field and a bit of solitude! All the activity can be seen here! Next stop the local shop for red peppers to make soup for Friends tea sunday  and met Polish and Weavers Wife!
Finally back home and up to Friends to check on her once more, then to roadside stall for greens for chickens, allotment to pick more strawberries for the jam now to be made tomorrow! Also bit of spraying of red mites and cuddles with the girls, poor Daisy is not looking so chipper again so will medicate her tomorrow am!! Might even bring her home for some TLC!
Next stop The Sellers to take photos of Raz! He had well and truly buried itself and it took ages to find him! The Seller returned from the PO run and he offered to close the chickens as by now I could feel the beginnings of a headache!
So one full on day! Tomorrow  I plan an easy day of jam making and blip looking, reading and replying! With chicken duties to start and finish! That old adage of retirement  "how did  I ever find time to work?" really is true!!
