The "Long Track Pantry"
I always pays to talk to the locals. We've learnt that on many occasions. Yesterday when we were at the cafe in Holbrook we were being entertained by a group of almost 20 happy women who were having an absolute ball. Well our curiosity got the better of us and we had to ask what it was all about. It was simply one of the groups birthday and they were all there celebrating over a long lunch.
We were telling some of the women how much we loved the cafe and always tried to schedule in a break there on our way to and from the Blue Mountains. They then proceeded to tell us that "If you love this you would be over the moon if you visit the Long Track Pantry in Jugiong" - Now Jugiong is just a little further north from where we normally take a diversion cross country, but on doing a little research we realised that we could certainly visit it for breakfast this morning and still be on track for home.
Well, what a great way to start the day. Can you believe it, at 8.30am on a Sunday morning in a sleepy tiny country town, the place was pumping with people. It was just so exciting to see someone else realising their dream. Juliette the owner took our order and we told her how we had stumbled across her wonderful cafe.
I'm going to add a link to their website, so that you can see for yourself what a creative and ingenious business this is. The Long Track Pantry
I have to tell you we both polished off the most delicious hot brekkie and it was all from local produce. You could almost her the hens cackling out the back. Needless to say we came home with some great home made chutneys etc etc etc.
It was good to arrive home mid-afternoon and now as I sit here, the fires going like the clappers and it looks like the clock has ticked over to "Happy Hour".
