Tale Of Two Trees

The clematis is really blooming this year and the tree around which it twines was going to get the chop. It’s an old, creaking, mountain ash and we’d asked our tree surgeon, Tom, to take it down while we’re away for a few days in Northumberland this coming week. Both J and I felt a bit sad really.

I went out early this morning to take some snaps for the record, showed them J, and we’d both been thinking the same thing - stop, let’s just wait and decide carefully what we want to do at the front. All in good time. Also what to replace it with (maybe Magnolia wilsonii, an acer; dunno, tbc). Phew, rang Tom - eleventh hour reprieve.

Hey, talking of trees, the chop and an alleged reprieve - Where is Joe? Where is Blipcentral?
