THE DOCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT 2015

I have spent ALL afternoon searching for a holiday cottage. My neck aches, and for all my efforts I have a list of 5 possibles which only include 2 hopefuls, out of the hundreds I have looked at. Availability, cost, location, view if any, washing machine, wifi, distance from dozens of clanging mastheads, distance from quay, distance from civilisation, pub, fish and chip shop. I did not look at the one called The Tardis, and one of my hopefuls has a "steep, narrow, spiral staircase" which I may have to ask for width measurements. And now I have my little list I will have to wait until tomorrow to phone, interrogate, and hopefully book, but then only so long as we can book the ferry, and will there be spare bicycles? All this before I see how much I can squeeze into one rucksack.

I have had not a moment to do anything else other than to feed the birds and now it is time to start dinner, toad in the hole and pear, pecan and chocolate crumble*. On separate plates.

So my blip is of my first, having started mid way through, Documented Life Project, which was entitled "there's no place like home". My home is in Yorkshire now so I started with that, but then went off-piste and listed other places I have lived, which then led to holiday destinations as so many of them have been wonderful and I would have liked to have made them my home too.
