As Fresh as a Daisy
At the entrance to one of our walkways is a healthy bush of tiny white daisies which have continued flowering through the heaviest frosts. Over a week ago, I liberated 2 or 3 flowers and put them in a small glass on the kitchen windowsill to brighten up my winter. This is one of them - taken indoors because of a very strong westerly wind. They are still going strong and I can see the origin of the saying 'as fresh as a daisy'.
The extra is for the fungi lovers and is a further stage in the development of yesterdays extra. It is looking more and more like a basket fungi. The growth is rapid and perhaps by tomorrow the open framework of the 'basket' will be completed.
