Little Bird
Day 2 at Centre Parcs Elveden. We started the day with a tree walking session (the younger girls and I). Having decided that the Aerial Adventure at up to 20m high was too much (thanks to a Youtube preview), we opted for the Aerial Tree Trekking, a combination of aerial runways, rope swings and tyre walks all at a more modest 2m above ground level. Miss C much more enthusiastically headed off first, leaving an apprehensive Miss I facing what seemed to her to be a far greater challenge. She battled admirably half way around the course, before being rescued and returned to terra firma (as the phrase was coined many years ago: the more firmer, the less terror). Miss C completed her first circuit in short shrift and was invited to complete her second, which she gladly accepted.
More swimming in the morning, a return to the villa for lunch for the children, followed by a surprise cupcake decorating session for the girls, whilst Mum and Dad enjoyed a relaxing lunch accompanied by a sleeping Master H.
In the evening, we were kindly invited to join the Pecks at their villa for a barbeque and drinks which was most welcome. Before that though, I took the opportunity to explore the forest in the vicinity of our villa, where I discovered a family of Long-tailed tits flitting between the branches of the trees and Muntjac Deer browsing bramble leaves.
Leaving day tomorrow :-(
