Devil's Claw
Holidays in recent years have often been to places where Alpine plants grow. But our recent adventure has been to the Dordogne which is hardly famed for its mountainous flora.
So it was with much pleasure that Knottman on his return home yesterday found that one of his favourite alpines was in bloom. This is Physoplexis comosa, an interesting plant which grows in the east of the European Alps and especially in the Dolomites.
It can be grown in an Alpine House as it does not mind cold temperatures but cannot tolerate them if they are combined with wetness.
