Cypripedium reginae
Another joy to come home to. This Lady's Slipper Orchid in Knottman's garden will soon be at its best. Blippers from the USA will know of course that it is the State Flower of Minnesota and provides some spectacular displays there.
But it seems very happy growing in just a few inches of poor soil in limestone rock and we are more than happy to host it. Unfortunately its big sister Cyp. Ulla Silkins which regularly has about 35 blooms, opened on the day we went to France and finished on the day we returned.
Some thunder forecast for this evening. A rare event in this part of the world.
