The Iron Throne (the Pilbara's own)

How amazing is this!! Our own "Game of Thrones" throne deep in the mulga of the Pilbara.
The rock formations here are some of the oldest on the planet! This is where gold was mined. There are still prospectors fossicking in the outback. It is such a harsh, hot, dry environment it is hard to believe how the early settlers survived. Talk about a gibber desert - it is amazingly rocky, all the flora is spiney and prickly or with soft, water retaining leaves. But mostly spinifex. And spikey!
