Whiteness
was scorching today, so the butterflies were out at last. Found Common Blue and Six Spot Burnet.Found the Kidney Vetch where the Small Blues should be, but too late in the year now. A family of six Kestrels were learning to catch Sand Martins, haunting the dunes above the nest holes! Female Eider were lying on the point in the sun, just about visible. Skylarks and Ringed Plover still have nests, probably second or third broods.
