Redpoll
supposed to be a winter visitor, but this bonny bird was one of a breeding group.
What a great day! It was sunshine and showers and managed three decent walks in sunshine and rain only happened when I was in the car! The Drove road, where the Redpolls were, was full of flowers, Broom, Ragged Robin Hawkbits and Speedwells and birds like Redpolls, Reed Buntings and Willow Warblers.
Later went coastal and found Ringlets and a friend for a blether.
Last walk was at Nigg and drove to ferry ramp where the Cromarty ferry had just left. the captain signalled did I want to go, I nodded yes, although hadn't even thought about it. He turned back, and picked me up! Brilliant!
