Chilled Out

Today's the day ........................ to make waves

Some people just have to draw attention to themselves.

It was a sleepy sort of day in Arnside.  There were a few people strolling about along the promenade or walking their dogs along the shore.  A group of aged cyclists had stopped to eat their sandwiches on the pier.  Then, from out of nowhere, came this fast speedboat.

They roared past the pier before squeezing through the pillars of the Arnside Railway viaduct, looping the loop a few times and then squeezing back again.  They were going so fast that they caused a huge wake behind the boat that sent waves crashing on to the shore.  There was loud music coming from the boat which was (ironically) called Chilled Out .  The two men in it were (how can I put it delicately) not in the first flush of youth - and you really would have thought they would have known better.

Was it uncharitable of me to hope that their noisy, intrusive and attention-grabbing boat would get stuck on a sandbank somewhere ..........................?
