Touching A Starfish

This morning, we walked over to the Post Office to send a letter, and then strolled through Chinatown, which Jackson seemed to enjoy.

This afternoon, we hopped on the T, which was an adventure in itself, because Jackson had never ridden on the subway before (he liked it, but wasn't so sure about the noise and the squealing, screeching brakes!)  We went to the aquarium, which was a big hit.  We got to touch some stingrays and some (tiny) sharks, learned about caring for sick sea turtles, watched sea lions and penguins, saw a huge whale skeleton, an electric eel, a lobster, lots and lots and lots of different fish, and even more people -- the place was packed, making a tin of sardines look positively spacious.  The best part for Jackson was exploring a tide pool environment, where he could gently touch anything he could reach.  He got to feel a starfish, a sea urchin, a snail, some slimy seaweed and algae, and a clam!
