If it's Wales ...
... it must be raining.
Crossing from England into Wales yesterday the temperature dropped by 20C and while Amy and Jacinta sweltered back home, Ruth and I were cool and wet for a good part of the day.
We are here for the 150th Celebration Party which runs from Friday to Sunday. The highlight for many will be the presence of two visiting engines. Prince from the Ffestiniog and Russell from the Welsh Highland are both going to be in steam. As these railways run on 1ft 11inch gauge (Talyllyn is 2ft 3inch) special tracks have been built in Tywyn to allow them to run .... Great Excitement!
There's a whole host of special trains over the weekend - why not make a trip yourself and escape the English heatwave for a day or two!
Todays shot is No 4, Edward Thomas running round the train in the rain at Nant Gwernol this afternoon. Driver Matt Dawson (he looks too young to be a Driver!) is concentrating on crossing the points safely and making a gentle approach to the stationary carriages.
