Oh what a lovely bunch of... balloons

Went into Manchester this afternoon to see the 'Manchester day parade'. Master B did not like being on my shoulders to see, yet when placed to stand on the floor he didn't like that either because he couldn't see(!) We moved to the comforts of the M&S cafe to peer down on the proceedings instead. The music could not be heard at all from in there so we didn't exactly get the carnival atmosphere but at least we weren't being screamed at by the youngest of our clan. There was a promise on the internet that St Annes Square had been transformed "into a bakery" with cakes and pastries and breads etc. So our spirits were up as we headed over. Alas we were not enthralled and simply faced with millions of cupcakes (so passé!) a few drinks stalls and the usual savoury sausages-in-flat-bread affairs. Not an artisan baker in sight. Ah well.

Miss B desired a disney heart balloon, I was told they were one pound, then a man rushed over and said "No, no FOUR pounds!" He must have thought I was mad!! I took a photo and fled. Miss B didn't seem too fussed.
