Another Abbey, another day.

Our last day in Dorset so we decided on a return visit to Forde Abbey. We could have taken the easy route on main roads but there must be a gene inherited from my mother and passed on to my daughter which steers us on to the minor, scenic route (in Dorset this often means grass up the centre of the road and the hedges brushing the car on both sides). I do have to map-read made especially interesting when you come to a junction where the post is there which used to hold the "fingers" showing where you need to go but the fingers have long gone. We began to wonder if someone was collecting them as souvenirs ! The names of se of the villages are mesmerising: Ryme Intrinseca, Toller Porcorum and so many more. The Abbey was as spellbinding as on our last visit, another very good day!
