BONDING TIME
We went up to our usual Saturday morning coffee venue today and were delighted to see our friend, Trevor, after an absence of five weeks following an operation on his spine. We had had progress reports from his wife, Louise, but it was so good to see Trevor up and about and we hope before long he will be completely well.
The usual crowd were there, and after a while our friend, Dave, came in with his grandson, Finlay - the brother of Myla, my ballerina blip from last Saturday - to have some "bonding time". Finlay polished off sausages and fries and of course, we all had a chat with them. There is such a lovely atmosphere when we meet up each week and as we are all friends, we love being together. Finlay had his 6th birthday this week - and lost a tooth - can you believe that the "going rate" from the Tooth Fairy is now £2 per tooth? Myla arrived soon after with her Grandma, Gill, but I think going to ballet had tired her out this morning.
We got home and had lunch in the garden and I decided that the rest of the fence had to be painted before the sun moved round - even in the shade it was very hot, but the job is now done, so we can sit and relax - you can see the result in my extra photograph today.
Mr. HCB is now watching some cricket on TV but I think I need to have a shower very soon - I am covered in blue speckles - it's a good job the paint washes off in water!
"The greatest legacy
one can pass on
to one's children
and grandchildren
is not money or
other material things
accumulated in one's life,
but rather a legacy
of character and faith."
