Schull Triathlon

The participants and sponsors must have been delighted with the glorious summers day that dawned for the annual Schull Triathlon today. 333 people swam 750 m, then cycled 21 km then ran 5km. They divided them into 3 groups with mixed abilities in all the groups. The buzz, support and excitement was infectious, with big crowds cheering friends and family on.
This is the first group heading off for the swim, which took the fasted man 12 minutes and the slowest lady 60 minutes. I was very impressed with the range of age, size and ability of the participants. As their quote says 'it doesn't matter how slow you go, you're still lapping the people on the sofa'.
Pottered in the garden, big supermarket shop, baked chocolate cake and pudding for what turned out to be a gorgeous evening at Tom and Ruths > excellent food and company and a very late night after a long and lovely chat with the hosts.
