Just a Starling

Well, freezing cold day today so ventured out for only a short while. Saw this Starling sitting on my very bare Weeping Mulberry. Starlings were introduced to Australia in the late 1850s through to 1870.  Why?
However this particular bird is sporting its new Autumn plumage of glossy black with a purple and green shine and white tipped body feathers, all of which dissipate over time. When nesting they do drive out native species so are not really welcome.  Still, that's all I had today and am in need of a lot of practice with birds.  My extra is just one of the breeding mares we have on agistment.  More practice needed there too, but thought I go ahead with it.
