I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy!

Well, I am an Ozzie, but born on the fourth of July.  My daughter gave me a beautiful bouquet of these most unusual roses.  The petals are burnt orange and fold back on the edges, making them almost look to be made of paper. The stars and stripes in the background is a flag I took from my sister's front lawn many years ago as I left the US for home on this special day. As I flew into LA around 9.30pm that night the fireworks throughout the city lit up the sky. It was a spectacular celebration of my birthday! The flag has since sat in my living room as a fond reminder of my special connection with the US in my sister Osuzannna.
