I am late posting my fireworks because it was after midnight by the time I got home last night.  It was a wonderful day at a friend's ranch out on the eastern plains (about 30 minutes from home), starting with an enormous pot luck in the early afternoon.  It was 97F (36C) but that didn't stop all the young people from playing football, horseshoes, quad riding, bouncing in the bouncy house and trampoline, etc.  We older and less heat tolerant folks sat in the shade with cool drinks watching the action.  The sky colors started with a gorgeous sunset and culminated in a big fireworks show with the mountains as a backdrop.  Here it is on the dark background.  Thanks to Burt and Angela for a lovely day!!
