Other worldly

Woke up this morning to this strange yellow light.  Thought I had some sunglasses on.   Marine air plus smoke from the forest fires on Vancouver island and also the mainland and bits of ash all over.  Very weird.  No wind so H and I decided to have a row -the water was strange too with a little roll from who knows where and no wind.  this is about 11:00.  The 4 turkey vultures hovering on the dock completes the picture.  There are many vultures and Eagles in nearby trees but we haven't been able to identify what might be dead.     The wind came up later, the sun tried to shine through But now it's dead quiet.  Can still smell it a bit.  
Lazy day.  Will put a couple extras on later as son is still trying to get the World Cup soccer , unsuccessfully, on my computer, but this photo is from the iPhone I had with me in the boat.  If there was a fire on this dry island, it would burn fast and we would have to grab stuff and head out in the boat.  There is a volunteer fire crew on Galiano with water pumps from the sea, but good luck.   I guess we should have a list....
