Dog. Tired.

..In preparation for the family turning up on Thursday, I've been doing those tidying up jobs. Tanni has followed me everywhere today, and like me, is totally worn out..

Started the day by going down to get A's tractor back. A mechanic friend has been fitting a new dynamo, replacing the old alternator. It should charge the battery better.. Once back, it was clean the hens out time. Everything shoveled out into the transport box on the tractor, and then down to the dung heap. Emptied, and then loaded the horse manure I got the other week, and that too was moved to the dung heap. Back to the house and hose the box clean before parking it up.

Then out with the strimer and strim the bits I can't do with the mower. That was 4 tanks of petrol and it's looking good. Had to do a repair to the strimer when one of the handles broke off. Dismantle, and put a steel rod inside, and drill holes for bolts. Not a perfect job, the handle still feels loose. It's only alloy. Will have to think again methinks.

Time for mowing the rest of the grass around the croft. Did the track to the compost bins, and the grass above the currant bushes. Then down the track, and round the new veg plot. And finally around the main veg plot. Did catch one stone, resulting in a blade coming off. That meant a walk back up the croft to find a replacement, and spanners and a walk back down again. Took Tanni for a run on the beach, and then did the final run back up to the house. Didia bit out the front of the house too..

Now got to write a financial report for a Development company meeting tomorrow, as we're shopping and will only just be back in time for it.

My nephew has done really well, tonight he is in Fort WIlliam, and has just 200 miles to go. Tomorrow night he'll be in Inverness, and Wednesday in Lairg. The final run through to Scourie on thursday will be a short run under 50 miles.. He and his partner have almost reached the current target of £1500 for the British Heart foundation..
