Male Stag Horn Sumac (Rhus typhina) and bee
Our sumac is doing really well this year with a mass of flowers that are attracting lots of bees. This may be because I have stopped it suckering by spreading Mypex ground cover under the tree.
I think it is a Stag Horn sumac - which grows in the eastern USA and was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. Its red fruits can be used to make a sort of lemonade and its known as the vinegar tree in France and Germany.
