Lasting flower?

I had two vases of cut flowers in the house, in both of which the majority of the flowers had seen better days.

As I collected them together to throw out, I noticed there was one variety of flower in amongst the others, looking as good as new!

Does anyone have any idea of what this flower is called? It's very beautiful and dramatic (rather than dainty) and the pink colouring is just lovely.

If I knew what this flower is, I would like to buy a plant to grow in my garden.

Speaking of the garden, it has been having a thorough watering all day. The rain hasn't let up at all!
