How High's the Volume

This is a Barley called Volume, its head has four rows of grains instead of the usual two. This is the first season we have grown it the potential crop looks very good. The fear with the current stormy weather at this point in its growth will it stay stood up ! Strong winds and heavy rains can soon cause the crop to go down and ruin the yield.
A day spent grass cutting in gateways and farm tracks in readiness for harvest.
More showers and sunny spells today heralded another very muddy horse this evening ( no popular with Mrs A S ) and an unproductive evenings fishing for me but numbers don't matter when relaxation is the name of the game.
