Horse-riding on Vik's black sand beach

I have been horse-riding on a beach before, but never on a black one! 
From the horse we could see hugh rock pillars sitting in the sea, called Reynisdrangar. Also lots and lots of puffins were floating in the waves. 
I didn't see much of my horse "Lifting"'s head, just a vast amount of mane moved around by the wind with the casual ear poking out from time to time! 
Oh, and even knowing better I repeatedly talked about the "ponies" in front of the icelandic girls. I am so, so sorry! I know, they are HORSES!
