Rookie

Me, Emma and vaari (grandfather) headed to Parolannummi to meet Leevi. There was a family day, where rookies had an opportunity to invite 3 loved ones to garrison. Hubby wasn't able to participate because he had a commitment to run results calculation in Kokkovuori shooting range.

There are 1083 rookies in Parolannummi garrison. Half of them had the family day today and rest of them will have it tomorrow. When we left Pirkkala it was raining heavily but just before Hämeenlinna the weather changed and the sun shined. There were lots of people meeting their youngsters. Leevi looked a bit strange with his new army look. He introduced his room (Mastokangas, a home for 10 rookies) and his locker. We saw tanks they use and we had pea soup and pancakes.

It was so great to meet Leevi and to see the place where he is. He didn't complain at all and I'm very proud of my son who will cope.
