World Class
Keri and I took a trip on the Forth Belle this afternoon around the Firth of Forth. A lovely, albeit windy, boat trip with puffins, seals and a World Heritage Site.
7 days ago, on the 5th July, UNESCO inscribed the Forth Bridge as a World Heritage Site. The World Heritage Programme apparently catalogues, names, and conserves sites of outstanding cultural or natural importance to the common heritage of humanity.
The bridge is the sixth site to be inscribed in Scotland - it now enjoys the same status as the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.
As you can see we got up close and personal with the bridge on our tour. It was a great wee way to celebrate it. The tour guide was a little eccentric and we got tips on how to sabotage a submarine and were reminded to 'never forget you are on water'. As if we could!
