St. Bernadette Parish

Many images are found in this stained glass window which is behind and above the altar of this small neighbourhood church in St. Boniface which lies across the river from Winnipeg. D and S worshipped there before driving back to Saskatoon. On the way, they stopped to visit the cemetery where S's parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins are buried. (see extra) It is a lovely, peaceful place in this small, rural village. The bench and nearest headstone are in honour of S's parents. The words inscribed in the granite are the words spoken by S's father as her mother was dying. The amazing thing is, that though all else was lost to him because of Alzheimer's disease, love remained. The two phrases are "My heart is full of love for you" and "I have always loved you"
