Failure to Launch
Well that was a lot of driving for nowt. Plan was, for me and Samantha, to head to Kennedy Space Centre for some geek time. Dumped the kids off on International Drive with some pocket money, punched 'Kennedy Space Center' into the Sat Nav and set off with a suitable soundtrack playing.
For an hour.
In the wrong direction.
Stopped at a gas station after driving around some residential side streets for twenty minutes, getting mighty suspicious there wasn't going to be a Cape Canaveral appearing any time soon. Turns out we were as far away as when we'd set off and wouldn't arrive until 2:30 in the afternoon if we kept going. My how we laughed.
Decided to head back through Orlando instead, grab some lunch and track down the splinter group. My how they laughed. They had made their way to Stalag Luft designer outlet by this point intending to max out their weight allowance for the trip home, so, before I spat the dummy I was sent off to a Starbucks for an iced coffee and sat in the shade people watching and listening for a bit until even they'd had enough.
As we've spent so much time in the car today, and snapped nothing of any interest I asked Euan to take a few shots during the journey back. You know exactly where you are when you pass this electricity pylon on the Interstate.
