12th July 2015 .... almost 25 years!
Back Blip
A really lovely day! Our 25th anniversary isn't till tomorrow, but today was the closest Sunday and we wanted to go to the church where got married in Crail.
Jamie and Therese arrived yesterday from The Hague, Holland via Jamie's family in Alloa and joined us in the morning for coffees in the Honeypot. So our little group consisted of myself, Bb, my brother (blipper busboy), Bb's mum, and Jamie and Therese. We walked to Crail Kirk and were happy that one of our wedding hymns had been included and we got a mention in the prayers. It was fun taking some photos afterwards, walking down the aísle, standing in the same spot as in 1991 in the gardens etc.
Then off to The Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews for a champagne and sandwich lunch with views over the Old Course. It was special enough to be an occasion, but informal enough to be comfortable and relaxed. We had a few toasts, including one to absent family and friends.
Busboy then left the party and headed home. The rest of us had a break back at the bed and breakfast and Bb's mum stayed in for the night with the Sunday papers, the TV and a doggie bag from lunchtime for company. Jamie, Therese, Bb and I strolled along to the Golf Hotel at night and they surprised us with a fun 'private conversation', with us as eavesdroppers, when they talked about us and all our moves and adventures of the last 25 years. A really fun idea and a good reminder of what we've done and where we've lived!
Did I mention how lovely the bed and breakfast is: 33 Nethergate, Crail - highly recommended! We had a room for three to the front (extra bed for Mum-in-law) and my brother and then Jamie and Therese had a room to the back, with a view over the beautiful gardens.
