For Dana

I found this lily had opened up today just after I heard the very sad news of the death of one of the most kind, gentle and sincere people I have ever met. Dana was married to the Rector, Mark, when we first moved to the village. I got to know her well while I was Mark's secretary and we ended up buying their house, where we now live.
Mark came round this afternoon to tell me that Dana had died in the early hours of this morning, with Mark and their three girls by her bedside.
I am in awe of their unshakeable belief that she has gone to a better place and not at all surprised to hear that Dana faced the end of her life with courage, dignity and peace.
I'm sure she has made her family very proud.
