The sky may lie, as can BBC
Sky at morn, not as forecast by Auntie
BBC's breakfast weather forecast between 07:00 and 08:00 today strongly suggested that at 08:00 the vast majority of UK, and lowland Scotland in particular, would be cloud free and warming up, towards wall to wall sunshine.
However, at 08:00, and until 12:00, the sky for miles in all directions, as viewed from my golf course, had a distinctive grey hue. From 10:00 until 12:00 the visible country, albeit a diminishing visible country, was soaked in a classic heavy drizzle. You know the kind! Soaks you to the skin and then on down into your soul.
Thinking of contacting the Beeb to volunteer as their “Looking out the window” Edinburgh Weather Correspondent, for the simple reason that this happens all too often.
The forecast wall to wall sunshine did appear shortly after high noon, but the walls must have been very close together as it only lasted a short time.
The BBC on-line forecast at 13:00 had been changed to reflect reality, so someone who wasn't playing golf must have called in to let them know. ;-)
