A day of three halves. At least.
Nothing in half #1; slowly into the day; leisurely breakfast and domesticity whilst the children watched TV read improving books.
We headed out to seek Cigs and fresh air (?) - we parked on Riversdale Road and mooched around the Water of Leith path, snapped Cigs, roamed through a nearly vacant yard used for the tram construction but still has rails and pylons lying around as well as a rabbit population that suggests that whilst they've been penned in they've been breeding like - well - rabbits?
Home /lunch / 19 and to meet arclight and accomplice at the Portrait Gallery to look at photos; which was humbling as I left realising I can't actually take photos, but hey... I'd not seen either of them for a while so it was great to catch up and eat cake (does anyone see a theme developing here in my week?)
We parted and headed for home and on disembarking from the 16 we were greeted by a visitor on a bike! She'd had enough of work and cycled down to say hi for 10 minutes. She did leave after 10 minutes, but we have a plan for the weekend that involves nothing at all. Perfect! We smiled a lot in the 10 minutes.
And into dinner / bath / bed and more tour highlights.
Nice shapes and colours at the entrance to the church by the bus stop on York Place
