Teacher Thank-You's

Ah, the end of another school year. The end of year assemby was this afternoon, I attended and sat with Kaylee's peers (what was I thinking!). The kids are crazy this week. With the end of the year upon them, there is no real academic achievement happening - and the teacher's are just trying to keep them busy until Wednesday at noon.

Kaylee received an Honor Roll award (for honor roll grades all 3 trimesters) and I received a Volunteer award for helping in the classrooms. I am sad to leave behind such great teachers for my kiddos.... Doreen Kimball and Stacey McBreairity have been amazing with both Kaylee and Colby this year. I know that their teachers for the upcoming school year will be just as fantastic, but it's always a hard transition.

I had meant to make these book apples earlier than the day before the final day of school - time got away from me. No time like the present right! After getting the kids in bed and settled, I set out to up-cycle a book. I was surprised how easy they were to make, I was able to make two out of the same paperback book. Grabbed a "stem" off the bushes along the front of the house and attached an artificial leaf.

I'm impressed with how they came out, and was pleased when the kids expressed their excitement over them as well. The teachers seemed equally pleased.

Now, onto summer vacation.... bring it!
