Make a Wish

We spent a very hot weekend on Gibson Island on the Chesapeake Bay, for the birthday celebration of our dear friend, Tom, who has been friends with my husband since high school.   The cake was lovingly baked and prepared by Tom’s 22-year-old daughter, but it appears someone forgot the candles. Just as well.   We have all reached that age where the top of the cake is no longer large enough anyway.
