Osprey Family

I got up early trying to beat the heat, only to realize there had been no temperature relief during the night.  While the household slept in after the previous night’s birthday party (see yesterday’s backblip), I headed out to see the Osprey nests, located in several locations on the island.  Be sure to check out the extra too. 

These birds travel thousands of miles every year, to and from South and Central America, mate for life and return to the same location year after year, despite spending the winter apart from each other.  If you want to see and hear these amazing birds, check out the live Osprey Cam  located on the Chesapeake Conservancy website.
