Alien landscape

At low tide the strange, shell-encrusted undersea world is revealed. Millions of periwinkles we couldn't help walking on, clusters of mussels and whelks on the rocks, which themselves had taken on unreal shapes as the tides had washed them away. That is Saltburn in the distance.

We had set off walking along a sandy beach and decided to continue round the headland over the rocks, only to find it was 3 miles to the next beach (for the safety conscious, we did have a map and the tide was out!), which turned out to be pretty hard work scrambling over boulders of every size. Coming back along the cliff top was much easier.

One result was that by the time we were home and fed and watered, I was too tired to blip. Then I was busy at work until very late on Monday and now I find myself back-blipping the weekend.
