Gull Chicks continued.....

I went down to the harbour today to check how the gull chicks were progressing. I was fortunate enough to catch a little action as one of the chicks was trying out its wings again. Its amazing how much they have grown in the last three weeks since I took the first photo. The downy feathers have almost all disappeared and if you compare with my first photo (here) you can see just how much it has grown. If he accidentally took off now it looks as if his wings might actually carry his weight and mother no longer feels she has to keep a watchful eye on him.
