Bumblebees

Having failed to notice an approaching bee yesterday I thought I'd better remedy the situation by capturing a bee on a thistle head. Here we have two for the price of one and I think that at least one of them is a carder bumblebee, which tend to be gingerish all over. I assume the white granules all over the thistle and the bees is actually pollen though it looks a bit like snow otherwise it is the residue of the heavy storms we have experienced today.
