All Skippers Great and Small

We went on a course on Butterfly monitoring today. I wasn't confident that the weather was going to help us - the forecast suggested it would be overcast and windy. In the event, we were caught in a heavy downpour. Happily, it did eventually stop and we had a surprising number of sightings - Meadow Brown and Ringlet, Large, Small and Essex Skipper, and a lovely fresh Comma. Bonus sightings included Green and Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Common Darter. The main photo is the Large Skipper and the extras are the Small Skipper,  the Common Darter and a Hornet Mimic hoverfly, Volucella zonaria.
Edit: the hoverfly is probably inanis
