Metamorphosis

Now is the time of year when I have to re-focus. from birds through butterflies to fungi. Soon, there will be fungus events to lead, publicise, and participate in. Fungi fruit all year round, but late Summer and Autumn are the best times, so to get off to a flying start, I thought I'd go and have a look what was around at one of my favourite sites. It has quite a few habitats in a small area - unimproved grassland, heathland, and woodland. There were a few grassland and woodland species fruiting, which was good - Puffballs on the grassland and Amanitas in the woodland. I've put an Blusher (Amanita rubescens) in as an extra.
