New children's hearings room

On my way to a meeting of the digital reference group in Glasgow I managed to call in and see the new hearings room in SCRA's offices in Glasgow.

This is being piloted by SCRA over 6 months and has been designed based on advice from young people, primarily from Whocares?scotland and SCRA's modern apprentices.

Amongst other things, children and young people have complained about the formality of traditional hearings rooms, the big table, the lack of colour. So this is an attempt to see how we might respond.

We will need to see how it works for everyone concerned, including panel members. At first sight it is certainly more friendly looking.

First hearings start using it from tomorrow.
