House of pain
I woke up at 5am due to the pain. At this point my face was swollen around the tooth and it was difficult to eat. I was in too much agony to get back to sleep, so I waited until the dentist opened at 8.30am to get a prescription for antibiotics. I had to wait about an hour for them to phone me back once my dentist got in to work. I was then told that he wouldn't give me the prescription because it was his opinion that I didn't have an infection. I was pretty shocked because it was absolutely clear that I did. I was told that if I was unhappy with the decision that I could go to another dentist (which was the nail in the coffin and I won't ever go back to him after he's failed me when I most needed him). Instead I spoke to my family GP who asked me to come in and see him.
After a little wait, my GP checked me and it was obvious to him that I had an infection so he put me on a course of antibiotics and gave me codeine for the pain. I went back to bed and eventually managed to get an hour or two sleep from pure exhaustion. Unfortunately I was meant to be driving to a music festival to meet my friends in the afternoon but there was no way that was possible. I just had to hope that the medication would kick in fast enough for me to go to the second day of the festival.
