Thistle Down

By Ethel

A Debt

In all you try to do,
Do the better part.
Let service for another,
Be foremost in your heart.

Don't look for every dollar,
Do some things free.
Act unto your brother,
In full capacity.

Your mother and your father,
Up-lift them well.
And take a look at Granny,
Rise up...and brag...and tell.

You owe a debt unto them,
Who brought you down to earth.
And gave to you your heritage,
That came to you at birth.

How can you stand out heedless,
To them...who have endowed.
Act Now...your heart will cherish,
And your noble-head be bowed.
